The first Ice Age movie was one of the few DVDs we had at home when I was little... and I still haven't seen the second movie. It added an interesting melancholy to my childhood believing Manny to be the last mamooth... same with the ice museum at the end of the movie... lot of what-ifs I came up with back then. Imagining all kinds of prequels (that I'm glad still don't exist)... But it's so cool to just think about them thanks to this trope.

As a fellow classical style sucker, I'll have to heavily disagree with you Blue One of the loveliest things about brutalist architecture, when done correctly, is the lessening of the sensory overload on my eyes. I love my city to bits, but I admit that neo-classical style that city centre sports, facades and all (think Vienna) can be too much at times. Brutalist architecture in the 50ies-80-ies rim, from a sensory perspective, likes alternating shapes without unnecessary ornamentations, which is a visual relief. Also you can't pull dystopias using brutalism examples in movies without acknowledging that majority of it was rooted in Red Scare tactics in Cold War that people never fully deconstructed! Tsk tsk 😂

You could've mentioned Ethiopa's critical role in sheltering a good number of the first Muslims. Pretty major moment in Islamic--and thus WORLD--history, especially for the Christians' acknowledgement of the theological continuities from Christianity to Islam (notwithstanding the worship of Jesus, peace be upon him, though I have no idea how developed that bit was back then). Doesn't get into a lot of background Ethiopia at the time, but it's history.

my uni is bloody hilarious because on one hand, it has roots back to the 1500s and has gorgeous examples of architecture across the centuries and some of the most picturesque academic buildings in the uk. but our main library is a brutalist blob next to a literal castle and it's so out of place it's comical

0:43 - In light of certain attempts to impose residential restrictions on Jerusalem in this last century, I will point out that Muslims never imposed any unilateral restrictions on Jews or Christians living there. Unlike both of the latter two groups, the middle one in most recent times. I know the Crusaders' ban was likely not effectively in place for too long if at all, but the point must be made.

Honestly, Gilgamesh looking like how he does in Fate is a plus for his character's popularity. I mean, Gilgamesh is quite literally one of the most popular and iconic characters in the franchise and his sex appeal is partly the reason for it. I doubt he would have had the most fanart and merch out of all the male characters in Fate like he does now if his design was like Alexander's

This video has made me double down on my idea of having the two major nations in my fantasy setting be an imperfect socialist low magic state that strives for equality through sometimes less than savoury means, and a high magic magicracy who use their godlike powers to create a gilded space age capital surrounded by blasted wasteland who are dead set on conquest because might makes right. Pretty things that I aesthetically like for villains I say!

Literary anti-heroes allow for interesting exploration of characters. To simplify a literary anti-hero lacks lacks compatibility with the story they're placed in. Emmet from The Lego Movie (1, haven't seen 2) is a perfect example of this archetype as he was a bumbling idiot and genuinely incompetent for 90% of the film being more of hindrance. Another example would be Jack Sparrow as he is incredibly unreliable and is more often than not a danger or liability. Frodo from LOTR is barely functional as a hero constantly making mistakes and incorrect choices against the decision of Samwise who is the true hero of the story. Deadpool works as an antihero not because he kills or is a grump it's that fact that diegetically he's incredibly obnoxious and unlikable as a person, whereas most heroes would fight someone like Thanos because he'll destroy the world when Deadpool would do it because he sent him a christmas card and he didn't write one back. A perfect example of an Antihero, Don Quixote from the novel of the same name a false knight on the noble quest of fighting *drum roll* a windmill; incompetent and dysfunctional as the protagonist of the story.
